How do I connect together my components so I can:
watch TV from my Satellite Provider (Dish Network),
and record TV programs on both the VCR and DVD recorder,
and play from both the VCR and DVD recorder to view on my TV
(and record to and from the VCR to the DVD Recorder...)
I have Dish Network 301 Satellite receiver (not a DVR)
Panasonic 20" TV (6 years old) with co-ax and RCA inputs
Panasonic VCR (6 years old) with co-ax and RCA inputs and outputs
Digital Max by Lite-On DVD Recorder-Player (new Digital Max DMD R 0501)
Thank you.

Thank you for your reply to my query.
I hooked it up differently,
and I'll try the way you suggest.
Thanks again,
GJM
I have a dish network ViP 722 DVR satellite receiver. I have a magnavox dvd/vcr recorder. I have the satellite cables going to the back of my LG flatscreen. I have composite cables from the outputs on the dvd recorder going to the AV inputs on the tv. I can play dvds and vhs tapes, but can't record from my tv and dvr. The back of my dvd recorder doesn't have the RBG cables inputs to go directly from the satellite receiver to the dvd recorder. Can I use an S video cable and audio cable to output fromt the satellite receiver to the dvd recorder to get the tv playing to the dvd recorder?
thanks,
Jim
I just downloaded your PDF and I see that the set up uses splitters. I want to hook up the TV to a DVR, DVD player, and VCR along with my satellite dish, all are five different electronic devices. How do I hook them all up together? Your diagram shows just a VCR and a DVDr hooking up to the satellite dish and TV.
The best way now days is to use the different inputs to the Television or audio Reciever
